Jewellery Warranty
These Terms and Conditions apply to all purchases of jewellery from Perlore. Our warranty provides coverage for manufacturing faults and is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Warranty Period
Perlore warrants all jewellery against manufacturing defects for a period of twenty-four (24) months from the original date of purchase. This warranty applies exclusively to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
2. What is Covered
This warranty covers any faults in material or workmanship that are a direct result of a manufacturing defect. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Faulty clasps, findings, or settings.
- Soldering or joint failure.
- Issues with the attachment of pearls or other components that compromise the integrity of the item.
3. What is Not Covered (Exclusions)
This warranty does not cover:
- Fair Wear and Tear: This includes scratches, dents, scuffs, or changes in the lustre of the metal or pearl that occur with normal use over time.
- Accidental Damage: This includes any damage caused by dropping the item, catching it on objects, or applying undue force.
- Misuse or Improper Care: Damage resulting from a failure to follow our recommended care instructions (e.g., exposure to chemicals like perfumes, lotions, chlorine, or abrasive surfaces).
- Loss or Theft: The warranty does not cover lost or stolen items or components.
- Repairs or Alterations by Third Parties: Any modifications, repairs, or services performed on the jewellery by a person or company other than Perlore will immediately void this warranty.
4. The Claim Process
To make a warranty claim, the customer must:
- Cease wearing the item immediately.
- Provide a clear and concise description of the fault.
- Present a valid proof of purchase (such as a receipt or order confirmation).
- Return the item to Perlore for assessment. The cost of postage for the return is the responsibility of the customer.
Upon receipt, our jewellers will inspect the item to determine if the fault is a manufacturing defect.
5. Remedies
If the item is found to have a manufacturing defect covered by this warranty, Perlore, at its discretion, will either:
- Repair the item at no cost to the customer.
- Replace the item with an identical or similar item of equal value if a repair is not possible.
- Offer store credit or a full refund if a repair or replacement is not available.
6. Pearl Restringing Service
Please note that the natural silk thread used for stringing pearl necklaces and bracelets will stretch and weaken over time. This is considered normal wear and tear, not a manufacturing defect. As a separate service, Perlore offers professional restringing to maintain the integrity of your pearls. This service is not covered by the warranty.
